We LOVE film and we love D.I.Y. filmmaking! Especially when it is small format.  Kinosmiðja is a collective that promotes both the creation and viewing of experimental film.  Though our screenings have been nomadic in the past, now you can find us once a month at Bíó Paradís.  Down on Grandi, Kinosmiðja is building up its workshop of super8, 16mm, video equipment, and a darkroom for community use and workshops!

Kinosmiðja aims to become an open studio in which you are allowed to work independently. Membership is open to all for 6.000isk a year, which includes discount on screenings, workshops and equipment rentals.   

Kinosmiðja regularly organizes workshops on experimental film or image-making.  The workshops offer filmmakers and artists an inexpensive way to shoot, process, and edit a film.  Its an opportunity to create- and to get your hands dirty! the opportunity to get their hands dirty.
